Personalized learning
Experience tailored education with small group lessons and hands-on activities.
I have been in education for 13 years, holding positions from high school teacher to School Director, and many in between. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Educational Psychology from the University of Houston, where I was also a collegiate swimmer.
I am passionate about creating a learning environment where every student can thrive. I know that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching methods to fit student’s unique needs and learning style. My goal is to make learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible for everyone.
Outside of teaching, I stay connected to the sport of swimming by coaching, and I love spending time with my husband, our son, and our three pets—a dog and two cats!
With over 20 years of experience in education, I’ve built my career on creating learning environments where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to grow—especially those who may not always feel like they “fit” in a typical classroom. I earned my degree in Education from the University of Houston, and my approach blends creativity with structure and warmth with challenge, helping students discover not just what they can do—but who they can become.
At Peak High School, I’ve helped shape a culture that values curiosity, individuality, and meaningful connection. I take pride in designing learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, and tailored to bring out the best in each student. My greatest joy is unlocking the potential in students who may have felt overlooked or underestimated in more traditional settings—and watching them thrive.
Outside the classroom, I’m a proud mom to four sons and an animal lover with three dogs, a bearded dragon, and a few fish. I find joy in outdoor adventures, diving into a good book, and encouraging growth in both the big and small moments of life.
Flex Fridays: Real-World Learning Beyond the Classroom
At Peak High School, learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. On Flex Fridays, students participate in immersive educational field trips designed to bring their studies to life and broaden their understanding of the world around them.
Peak High School made all the difference in my son’s educational experience. Ms. Rachel and Ms. Jessica are kind without being lenient. They set expectations that are individualized to the specific student, and they make learning more than what is in the textbooks.
My son graduated from Peak in 2024, and he recently told me that he’s glad he was never “taught to the test.” He has valuable critical thinking and writing skills that I don’t think he would have acquired had he gone to another school. He was not your “average” student, and he received an above-average education thanks to his time with Ms. Rachel and Ms. Jessica.
As a graduate of Peak High School, I can confidently say that my time at Peak High School was truly transformative. Its flexible schedule, dedicated teachers, and supportive community allowed me to excel academically while pursuing my passion for art. The personalized attention I received at Peak High School truly prepared me for success in college and beyond. Peak High School helped me achieve academic success and personal growth that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. As I have already left the school, I still feel 100% supported by the community I have left behind. The opportunities for extracurricular activities and leadership roles at Peak High School helped me develop essential skills and build lasting friendships. I am grateful for the foundation of excellence Peak High School provided me as I continue pursuing my higher education goals and beyond.
I have also recently been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer. I bring this up because I want to acknowledge the incredible support and love from my Peak High School community during this difficult time. Their unwavering support has been a source of strength and comfort as I navigate this new chapter in my life. I felt 100% secure in contacting my past teachers and classmates for support during this difficult time. The sense of community and support I experienced at Peak High School has been invaluable as I navigate this new challenge in my life. I don't even think I can find the proper words to express my gratitude for this community that has rallied around me during this difficult time. The relationships I built at Peak High School have been a source of strength and comfort as I face this new chapter.
We are deeply grateful to Peak High School. If you are looking for a small classroom setting where the teachers truly know, care about, and support your child, this is the place to be. Peak High School’s small size enables individualized attention and flexibility in providing extra support. It accommodates different learning styles, fostering personal accountability and respect for oneself and others. In addition to classroom education, the inclusion of frequent community outings and activities helps the students build real-world skills and has helped our son feel more prepared for the transition from high school to secondary education and young adulthood.

By exposing students to a range of possibilities and teaching them to evaluate their strengths and interests, we empower them to make informed, meaningful decisions about their futures.
